I've read Ed Bott and blindly added the Albine list of sites to IE9 RC's Tracking Protection. Honestly, I don't understand which sites should be allowed to do...what??? Does this just keep cookies away I don't want???

I've read that it is supposed to be fully color managed.

Does it support ICC v2 and also v4 profiles?

It is configured color managed as installed or do you have to manually enable it?

What do you see on these two sites?

Yes, yes: everything looks fine. Remember that Microsoft invented ICC profiles, as a foung member of the ICC...

With a decent adblocker and spellchecker, IE could be back in the game.
whats with the spell checker? don't see the need am i missing something?

the lists "IF" promoted by 3rd parties will be fine IMO

ok here are the links...

http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/ie9-faq-how-to-install-uninstall-and-tweak-the-ie9-rc/2984?pg=2

you load list using manager> tools icon> safety> Tracking protection..... many load list and then deal with pages on an individual basis.

from some forums i read the TRUSTe was one of the better ones.....

if you in look in the manage add ons it also makes by default a personlized list and collects info it is disable and all you do is enable after some use and you have built and personalized one based on your browsing habits over a day, or more.

It definitely handles image profiles, hopefully it also uses monitor profiles as well though otherwise it's basically just dumb. Otherwise I mean what's the point as the browser couldnt be used on wide gamut monitors in wide gamut mode (or even on standard if you truly want to see everything looking correctly as can be on a given monitor) so....

I will check it later on my wide gamut.

...it will not install. I've installed it on my laptop with Win 7 64-bit Home Edition with no problem. My desktop with Win 7 64-bit Pro is another story.

I've tried the RUN option straight from download, as well as saving & running as administrator. The install seems to go OK, but, after restarting, I get "configuring windows updates" which fails & then it reverts changes.

I've tried disabling most of the items in the startup menu, changing user permissions (as I read in another forum). The only anti-virus I'm running is MS Security Essentials.

Any thoughts?
