I haven't posted in a while so it's nice to drop back in to share. Just a couple of images of my best friend, my amazing wife. Kodak CN400 from memory. I like Ilford and Tri-X but damn, this film delivers beautiful tones.

In the kitchen with Paul Newman and Robert Redford (who else I mean to say)

And two from the local cafe this week

Trust the new year has started well for you all. Thanks for viewing. All comments welcomed.

Hi David,

Wonderful portrait shots of your pretty wife. This film shows some very subtle grain and contrast I think. Great!

The 2nd shot would stand out the most for me in terms of her gaze, vertical composition and the fine grain and contrast it provides. The light there is powerful too.

See ya David,

Tibor

Hi David,

This wonderful set is a treat; you have the best model than anyone could wish!

It is also good to see some film shots from time to time and to adjust ourselves a little with our digital work!

BTW, how is your Dlux5 working? I hoe you will post some shots from this amazing toy! ;)

very Best,

These are beautiful portraits and confirm the view that there is still a requirement for film in a digital world. I wish I could get close to the quality of these pictures.
Thanks for sharing.
P.S your wife is quite lovely.

David,

Some wonderful captures of your better-half! The 2nd image has a quiet, introspective feel to it, a totally candid, caught-unawares sort of quality. The 3rd image is fabulous - only the very fortunate are at the receiving end of that sort of a smile!

I don't stop by here often, but was glad I did today. Well done on these images! A very Happy Year to you in 2011. Wish you great light!

Cheers,
-raaj
