Image: girl and guitar

"It is much better not cutting off any of the subject. " well that is something to be discussed. There are a lot of werry good photographs out there that stands out for it tight croping. Mine might not be right tough :)

I'm purely talking about the image in question. The photo as originally posted (and cropped) just doesn't work for me. It looks cut off.

So, the real question is: Was the client happy? That's all that really matters. Sure, you can take the feedback that we all give here and apply it to future shoots. Some of it will be relevant to your style, some won't. But at the end of the day, what kind of feedback did you get? :)

Cheers,

I agree. I don't like the tight crop as much. Since I don't know if the job is for the clothes, the guitar or the girl I can't really say. Great shots anyway.

Well done. I like the uncropped version. The cropped one looked like a mistake.

Yes, she was really happy with the images that she got, So got 10 edited images out of the package she ordered and ordered 3 large prints :)

Cropped version is much better, since the shoe front is too distracting, and the guitar looks much better without the "hockey stick" headstock. In fact it creates a bit of drama when it seems like a regular stratocaster with bits cut out of it.
Excellent point. You know about guitars! However, cutting off legs and heels always annoys me ;-) I would have her come back and tweak the outfit slightly - after all: guitars and girls in heels...does it get better than that?

In the first image, where the person has her fingers on the fretboard, she is not fingering any actual chord. In fact, two of her fingers appear to be on the same string. I conclude that she does not know how to play guitar and that she is a complete and utter fraud. Perhaps she is with the group The Fraud Squad?

Other than that, it's very nice.
A) Who would seriously think that this was for real? She is A GIRL!

B) I've seen worse. In any 1980s Prince video...

Not sure who's sillier, you or the person you replied to ;)

Of course, she probably doesn't play guitar, but to say the idea is out of the question because of her sex is ridiculous. That must be some cave you are living in.

Personel for her, yes. Not a tfp or free shoot, I hardly do freeshoots.

anyway..

OP stated "She wanted some images of her with her boyfriends guitars Was a fun shoot." at the bottom of his post. Sounds to me it was a fun, personal thing.

Since everyone is obsessing about the first shot, let me just say that I think the second shot is stunning. The lighting from above, the pose, showing juuuust enough of her breasts to be catch your eye without distracting from her stunning eyes drifting off in the distance all work for me.
