I just spoke to the guys at Mathers (I have had a body on preorder for a month or so) and they told me that they are expecting their full allocation of stock in on Thursday, and that they will start ringing people to confirm delivery once they get them in.. sounds promising!

Super, got mine on order there, can't wait plus 100-300 and 14-140

thanks
Steve

I was first on the list at Mathers, not that they'll definitely ring the allocation in particular order. But I'll let you know if I get that call!

Exciting times.

I just rang them to confirm my order, they are in panic mode at the moment because panny aren't doing body only options, and as we know Mathers split kits, well they have so many orders for the body they are afraid of getting stuck with the 14-42 kit lens, so they are stopping body only orders for a while until they unload the 14-42 kit lens's, he said my order is solid and panny have said the GH2 is in the house, roll on Thursday guys.

Mathers are great like that splitting the kits to give the customers what they want. You can understand them stopping taking body only orders for now though.

As I've got a GH1 to sell, I've ordered with the kit lens, so I can keep my excellent 14-140. Roll on Thursday indeed. I might drive up if the snow buggers off, I'm that excited :)

Lol, where do you live Tim, you can take me with you, only joking mate.

If I was paranoid, I'd say Panasonic created a "devalued" plastic 14-42 kit lens to keep merchants from splitting kits. The 14-45 sold for a good price lens-only, also to Oly folks wanting to replace their own kit lens. Which made the deal reasonable for guys like Mathers. But who'd want that 14-42 anyway?

But since I'm not paranoid, I'm not saying it ;)

Just rang up, confirmed next day delivery for Friday ;-)
did they ring you?, or you ring them? I have one on order since week one, and no-one has been in touch.
I rang them, it's mainly to confirm postage options I think
Thanks - I was a bit worried that my order had been overlooked. I'll ring them tomorrow.

Friday might be a bit optimistic here in Lincolnshire - the post have announced no more deliveries until things improve, so unless Mathers' courier is a bit more battle hardened I can't see them slithering up the road with my new cam ;)

nothing very much is getting in or out of Edinburgh at the moment as what's normally a virtually snow free city doesn't know what's hit it but when it does, I will look forward to trying it out in Jacobs (or the ever-deteriorating Jessops) as there's nothing else left here pretty well for new kit (well there is a Calumet but they've become very expensive and don't think of m43 as real cameras from what I can judge). Prefer to buy locally if I can if Jacobs will do me a reasonable price but failing that, one of the reputable long established stores like Mathers. Will wait a little until the price has at least nudged below £700 with the kit --shouldn't take long. But then there's this Oly pro rumour with a supposedly new Panny sensor going to be announced before too long. I suspect that, having got exclusively Panny glass so far, I'm more likely to stick with them but it's great to have the choice.

I think all this bad weather is going to disappoint a lot of us expecting our new toys on Friday, anyone know if Mathers got the delivery today, i'm still waiting for a call.

Being sent out 24hr delivery today.

No snow problems in Warrington, so it'll be here for tomorrow - Wohoo!

Yes!, me too, just had the call this very minute, my body gets dispatched by royal mail special delivery, normally guaranteed by 1pm next day, but maybe later what with the six inches of snow outside.

Just had confirmation on mine for tomorrow morning too.. hooray!
All you people who have heard from Mathers - when did you place your orders?

Mathers have been sitting on a £100 deposit of mine since the first week of October, and they haven't called me!!
