I had a 1958 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 that looked a lot like your Triumph. Bought in Katmandu and sold 8 months later in the south of India. I'll have to look for a photo I can post, they're all on slide film.

Here in Brazil, most motorcycles are in the 100cc to 250cc range, and are used primarily for commuting. That was my idea at first, since it does 25km/l (or 150 mile per galon), which is not bad. But since I got this bike, almost 10 years ago, traffic here got more dangerous, as the number of bikes increased a lot (I think there is, at least, five times more motorcycles in the streets and twice more cars), and most drivers do not respect motorcycles, so I drive for work.
The same applies in India as well, motorcycles are usually in that capacity and primarily used for commuting. Riding is an absolute nightmare for the same reasons!
It's not unusual to see cars driving at 60mph in major avenues, changing lanes without looking, etc. I saved my bike to use it just on weekends, when traffic goes down to a tenth of the usual.

Just to get an idea of our traffic and how most of the bikers ride (me included, when i first got my bike. I'm more responsible now!):

The Bullet is still being produced and consumed in the Indian subcontinent in large numbers! Its a popular motorcycle and very similar in terms of looks to the Bonneville.

Would love to see some pictures if you get a chance.

Petrol tank ? This is a liquid-cooled 4 stroke fuel-injected (european models) electric start 49cc engine since 2003. Uses regular unleaded.

There is a cover under the helmet. Reservoir capacity is 5 liters, good for over 150km.

Don't they race these? I'm sure I've seen leather-clad adults rding around circuits 'face touching handlebars' on these.. or bikes like them.

I like 'em.. there like the monley bikes from the 70s

p.s thanks for the education. :)

30kmpl sounds a little low, doesn't it? I know of 100cc 4-stroke cycles in India which do about 80-90 kmpl.
