May I see what you ride?? [IMG]

Hi Wolfgang, I have the US version of that bike, an 88 Honda Hawk GT, which is currently in storage. These, like all Hondas, just keep on running.

Back in the days when I was learning how to drive..........this is it.........I was meaning to restore it, bud did not have the time yet........hope you enjoy it

Cheers

Hi Raj,

Nice bike the older bikes have a bit of character lacking in the better performing modern models. This was actually my late Dad's bike and my brother and I keep it ticking over. Though for god’s sake don’t ask me anything mechanical, I am more the polish and shine guy my brother does the spanner and oil side. It is a Norton commando circa 1973 and though it doesn’t get out as much as it once did we do get it over the hills in the summer months. I am pretty much a car guy my brother has a big BMW R1200RT {he assures me the RT part is important} which he uses most weekends much to his wife’s annoyance.
Jim

if I had a "bike" it'd be a ducati though...

1991 GSX-R1100M. The last of the oil cooled models, and one of not many that are left with a fairing. Most were streetfightered due to them having one of the prettiest frames in motorcycle history.

Mine's pretty heavily modded, including a complete ZX7-R front end, 6-pot calipers, stage 3 carbs and air filters and a full Yoshimura system. Apparently I can be heard around five miles away!!

Definitely what I would call a modern classic, or perhaps classic styling without the classic failures ;)

I've been meaning to take a few artsy shots of my ER-6n, but haven't found the time yet. Maybe in the next couple of weeks....

Great work, my buddies had these when we were in HS, it is a wonder I survived some of my early experiences :0

I came from a dirt bike back ground, where you went as fast as the trail would allow. On the street that equated into as fast as the bike would go. We could make it all the way across our small town PDQ. I don't know why nothing ever happened, and even more strange that we never got caught. ;)

it sure is a beauty!

I'll volunteer my time to give it a proper run-in every once in a while.

wow that first one sure brought back a flood of memories...play racing, TT style, around a vacant lot in town back in the late 70's

I just might have to pull out On Any Sunday ;)

Yes they do... (keep on running I mean).

I have the 650, with some 50 or so hp. The 700 is sold here as the "Deauville" (named after a French town at the coast), and that one comes with a fairing, but it's also considerably heavier.

The Hawk is nice - an NTV with a chain. And it looks a bit like a baby Firestorm.

cheers,
Wolfgang

These were the perfect motorcycles in a lot of ways...such simple engine designs, to be honest when I opened them up I sat there and wondered.."And this produces all this power??"

So true, so far I've had only one spill in my 20 years of riding, but since then its all been well and a lot of fun!
