Ok, here's a topic that ALL of you Oly Folks can participate (Oly Folks would include digital and dSLR).

The Challenge: You have been hired by your Chamber of Commerce or Tourism Office to promote your home town. You know it best; this is the place where you live. It's your city, town, neighborhood -- the place you call home. You have one week to meet the challenge and you can only submit at most, two images. You need to do a sales job for your area. Those images have got to be good!

If your town is well known, give us a different way of seeing it. This might be an interesting historical site or unknown place that you find special in your neighborhood. This is not about the house or building you may live in, but more about the landscape or environment that you find yourself living in.

The Rules for entry can be found here:
http://www.pbase.com/otfchallenge/town

Good luck and may the best town win. Oh by the way, the winner gets to host the next challenge. So who is in? -- LC

P.S. Non-Oly folks are welcome to submit to the Exhibition Gallery.

or would that be cheating. My town is so small I could get everone in one shot. LOL.

Item A: It was suggested to me by a forum member that the photographer's name and camera model not be included until after the voting period. This is a novel idea and will make it more of a level playing field. I have adopted this, please note the text modification on the Challenge site http://www.pbase.com/otfchallenge/gallery/town

Item B: This is a question? Within the challenge gallery, should seperate sub-galleries be created for each photographer's entry? We are promoting a town, so voting would be based on the gallery which could include 1 or 2 images. Each gallery would get one vote, whether it contained one or two images. What do you think? -- LC

Chad I hadn't considered this. I did specify that images need to be sized to 800X600. My thought was a single image. However, if this is your strategy, then we will let the voters decided. I didn't set any limit on photo processing. -- LC

Hello my friend. I would be great if you could make an entry in this Challenge. It is always a pleasure to see images of France.

I still owe you an email about the details on my panorama. I will try to get it out to you in the next day. Take Care -- LC
Great idea, LC
I don't know how, when and where exactly but i'll try to contribute

Are you going to put them up all in one go on the last day?

Or a city or a village.

I live in a "District" with no local government. I pay my taxes directly to the county so I don't have all that community pressure to measure up to.

There is no Chamber of Commerce here and the only commerce here is selling the goods you raise on your farm.
Most of my neighbors have 4 legs and wear fur all year round.
