I and the DL4 spent Monday exploring a new photo location in Western North Carolina. It is a meadow at a mountain top. Not overly high. Probably around 4000 ft. It was midday but a little overcast when I reached the location but sunny when I left it. My intention is to go back when we return for the fall season for some great color. Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Capture One processing only. Sorry Louis, I forgot to remove the watermark. Next time!

Thanks to all.

Larry, these are gorgeous images with wonderful colors and composition. But if I may; I would take those watermarks off!... They are destroying your beautiful shots; and shots of this size are useless for anyone to steal!...

Keep them coming,

Looks to be a nice place, but your pictures suffer from bad light (not your fault obviously :-)) and oversaturation, at least according to my personal taste. Also, I'm not a big fan of the sqare format with landscapes ...

Maybe you could try to isolate that building a bit more - your pictures seem a bit cluttered with details, so that one struggles to find the relevant part. (Obviously also not always your fault, as a small-sensor compact just doesn't give much out-of-focus blurring.)

On second thought: The last one is indeed very nice! :-)

efix,

Thank you very much for your comments. These were merely some test shots as I was scouting for fall colors. I would not have shot them at this time of day, if otherwise. I plan to return in October, at sunup, with my Contax 645 and Leaf DB. Because it started out overcast, I felt it was worth a go. I was generally pleased with the outcome, especially under these conditions.

I am guilty of liking extra saturation and contrast. Therefore, guilty as charged.

As for square, well, I really did not give it much thought as I am just getting acquainted with this camera.

I really appreciate your kind words on number four.

Larry

Mike,

Thanks for the kind words.

Yes, I really am fortunate to be in a very beautiful area. Thanks for reminding me as I sometimes forget about that. I admire photos from around the world posted by many here and often wonder just what it may be like to live in those beautiful places.

Best regards,
Larry

Beautiful images, Larry. The last one is my favorite in this set - lovely composition.

Cheers!

All beautiful images, Larry, but the barn and winding road leading to is is excellent for its color and composition. Great eye.
