To all those who jumped in with both feet and bought a D60....Don't you just wish you had waited? Aren't you kicking yourself just a little? For the New 1Ds just outshines the D60 in every way,doesn't it? I am just glad I didn't take the bait & bought a D30 instead, now I can start saving for the new wonder machine, whilst being perfectly happy with the D30 in the meantime......

Speaking of beating the D60 in every way, I don't think that's the case with 5+ minute exposures, price, or weight. And I really don't think Canon swindled me into buying a D60 ... but they did make me wait three months to get it!

Nahhhhh -- When I'm getting the sort of contracts which will allow me to afford a 1DS, I'll be able to afford to keep the D60 as a backup / leisure body too.. even if they'd been sitting on the shelf next to each other, I'd still have walked out with a D60 - as for the D30 scenario - that was a no brainer too as the only warrantied D30 around at the time was £1600 in Jessops window

- even IF Mifsuds had the £1300 D30s then (they have one left) I'd probably have gone for the 60 as there would/will be a LONG timegap for me to save 1DS money which wouldn't get saved in any case due to the need to buy glass..

a warrantied £1000 D30 would have swung it, but there weren't any.

But, I have a D30 - and I'll be skipping over the D60 anyway.

But that's just me. The D60 is plenty of camera, I have it now, and I didn't have to pay $6000 for it. Sorry, but if this is what we have to pay for a full sensor 11M DSLR, then we're still in the early-adopter stage. I don't have the budget to do this as an amateur photographer.

I have the 1D and don't regret buying it. The 1Ds won't be readily available until early next year. Those of us with D60's and 1D's are making pictures NOW. Photography is about making images, not having the latest and greatest toy. Besides, comparing the 1Ds and the D60 is like apples and oranges, really.

Gosh, so you have your 1Ds and are billing clients for shots already? Sweet! Reading between the lines, it sounds like you wish you had a D60. Good luck though anyway with your issues.

Your post is what I would describe as a troll comment. How can you post an inflamitory set of comments and simply put "only kidding" at the end. My children say nasty things like this and have a similar technique for reversing their thoughtless comments. Usually they speak without thinking and realize that they spoke poorly then try and retract it. You obviously had the thought to say "only kidding" before you pushed the post button.

For what it's worth, I have no regrets about my D60 purchase and find it's image size to be more than adequate. If the D60 replacement was available today and sold for the same price I recently paid for my D60, I would have regrets, but I don't and the camera you speak of is not even available yet and probalby won't be until next year.

I bought a D60 (received it at the beginning of July) and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. While not in the obscene number of frames as some of the pros around here, I have taken close to 3,000 frames.

I would recommend a D60 to anyone looking for a DSLR.

Just sold my D30 and I am getting the D60. I just picked up a E10 for a good price to hold me over until I get the d60. I see you have a E10. How is it? Hows the autofocus?
