Is there some setting that I am not aware of? It's always worked fine before. I have done all the obvious external tweeks, spins and button pushes. Please help!

How can we help since you forgot to tell us what camera and what viewfinder.

I'm sure once you do supply this information you will receive enough usefull information to resolve the prblem.

I coincidentally had that feeling today with the G1, something had changed the diopter adjustment,

Sorry for being a spaceshot, all! I have a Panny G1.

What is a diopter adjustment???

There's a stiff little knob to the immediate right of the viewfinder which adjusts diopter - the focus of the viewfinder - to allow people that wear glasses to use the camera without them. It should be turned until the EVF image appears sharpest to you.

Wendy, there is a little dial just to the left of the EVF. You turn that to correct the focus of the EVF for your own eyes. For instance, though I wear glasses and reading glasses, I can set the diopter so I don't need them at all using the EVf. I watch the settings (green and yellow) as I turn the little wheel

until they are in good focus for me. It is harder to get that little diopter wheel OOF on the G1 than the accessory EVF on the GF1 whiich needs set almost every time since I hit the diopter wheel when I take it out of or in a bag. Probably you did something similar to that weehl. It sits vertically JUST beside the EVF on the left.

The diopter adjust is accomplished by turning the little wheel that is located just to the left of the EVF. Just turn the camera on press the menu button and while looking at the menu via the EVF, turn the little wheel with your left thumb until things look focused.

Thank you all! That was exactly the problem. I don't recall ever seeing that dial, so thanks also for the education. I am relieved.
