My thanks to everyone....

Well folks, I sincerely appreciate all of the posts asking that I be reinstated. It looks like it has worked. My thanks to everyone.

I would like all of you to know that what I did was inexcusable. I had put derogatory remarks in my signature file against another member by the name of Maxwell Smart. Doing such a thing is against the rules of the forum. To that other member I would like to say, even though I dislike you immensely, I am sorry for what I did. I also see that forum member Maxwell Smart has been gone the same amount of time that I have. If he has also been banned then I will not come back to the forum unless he is also reinstated.

Now, my thoughts about the incessant punching of the complain button and the permanent banning of forum members. For those of you that think that it was me that hit the button against Don Alison and Rupert, then you are thinking wrong. As I have stated many times before, I have never hit the button against anyone. It is true that I dislike Don Alison more than I have ever disliked any other human being but he did not deserve a permanent ban. Rupert brought his problems onto himself and most of us know the truth of his banning. However, Rupert should have just had a slap on the wrist, not a permanent banning. So, I am also going to take a stand concerning these two previous forum members. I vow not to come back to the forum unless and until both Don Alison and Rupert are reinstated. If they are reinstated and still choose not to come back then that is up to them. My conscience is clear concerning Don Alison and Rupert because I am, and always have been, clear of wrongdoing concerning them. They can continue to believe what they believe and I will not be bothered by their beliefs anymore.

So folks, my thanks to all of you but I believe that a stance has to be taken. I won't be posting again until I see postings from Maxwell Smart, Don Alison, and Rupert or I read or hear that those same individuals have been reinstated or offered reinstatement.

I must say that I don't follow things in this forum closely enough to know who is typically nice or what. Usually when people start getting personal in threads is where I stop reading that thread. All I will say is that it seems lifetime bans are a little extreme unless someone has done something really bad. All I know about you is that you provide input into discussions on the long glass category that I'm interested in, and appreciate discussion on that topic. Glad to see you back. No need to wait for the other banned members to be back to post again, you have made your point. If you do, I'm afraid my glad to see you back will be wasted.

Your character shines through loud and clear with your sincere apology and I hope you will continue to contribute to DPR's, and especially Pentax forums. I didn't know Don, but I did get to know Rupert quite well and I'm with you 100% that they should be given another chance. Very glad you are back.

I'm glad that you were reinstated and I hope that you will once again participate in the forum regardless of what decisions are made about Rupert and Don. I'm 99.9% sure that, even if reinstated, neither will return. They are both active in other places and have both stated that they will never return.

I look forward to once again reading your posts.

I want to commend you for those remarks. I would also like to add that tvw and you had a row and he also has been banned. If we are giving second chances he deserves one as well.

Well, great to hear from you , though I doubt we'll see much of you if you're expecting to see posts from Don (who I, quite honestly don't want to see back) or Rupert (who I do) , they've been gone too long - I very much doubt that the DPR staff will do it anyway ...... Hopefully you'll reconsider and pop in from time to time but please don't bring Don back with you ;-)

It is indeed wonderful to have you back being able to post again, but I think you have set the bar too high with your request to allow the other's to be reinstated.

I would urge you to reconsider your stance with regards to the other's banning and your desire to not post until they are reinstated.

Looking forward to your future posts featuring your contraptions, big horn sheep and your excellent landscape photos from near your home.

I echo Lance here! He has said it all! Please reconsider the conditions you have set Ron! I doubt they will be met, which means we all lose a valued mainstay of this forum and our longtime photographic chronicler of that beautiful country you live in. Not a prospect I would enjoy!

I dont know who you are, but if you somehow got maxwell smart kicked off, you cant be all that bad. That guy was a know it all, so dont feel too bad. Also, i dont see anybody starting a petition to get the other individuals (who I also dont know) reinstated. Probably means good riddance.

Hey Ron, happy to see you back. But I think you should take a happy break and just post once in a while. I think you are much more needed compared to the past users you mentioned.

But what if Maxwell Smart, Don Alison, and Rupert wont post until they see posts from you? I envision 4 guys and a squirrel sitting in front of their computer screens all waiting for the first one to post.

IMO, a lot of people here went to bat for you because they thought you brought something worthwhile. Be gracious and oblige them.
