Some nice pics with D3s and 70-200VRII+ TC III combo @400mm...

Some earlier images taken with the new 2.0 converter and displayed on the op's web site didn´t convince me on the sharpness of the converter.

These new examples look reasonably sharp but not tack sharp. Nevertheless, it is difficult to assess the quality of the converter without knowing how these images were processed.

Are they jpg originals or converted from raws? Sharpening in camera or during post-processing? How much?

Also the distance to the subjects could have an effect on the sharpness of the image.

It would also be very interesting to know how well the converter cooperates with the Nikon 300mm f4 tele. If the results are good, that combination could be an attractive inexpensive supertele combination for many of us here.

These pictures were converted from RAW. In CS4, sharpened in the light channel in Lab colors. Not too much, because I didn´t want to oversharp them.

I´m also interested in the 300mm f4 to see how he performs with the new TC2. It seems the AF is too slow...
