To all 707 Gurus.

I'm at present looking for alternate form of storage for Memory stick. Main criteria is,

1) Should be cost effective, i dont want to spend more than 299 USD for storage. I am planning to visit India for a month and i want to have storage size of atleast 5 GB.

2) Should be practical. I dont want to carry lots of gadgets along with me for transfering images from camera to storage

3) Should be independent of access to PC. I dont want to carry laptop with me everywhere to transfer images from camera. I want a device which can read directly from my 707 or from Memory stick, i have two memory sticks, while one is in camera next one can be in device and device can read from that stick while i'm working on other one.

4) Should have a practical power consumption. I dont want to end up buying battries once again from Sony.

thanks

Read some of the posts about the Image Bank/Tank and X Drive. You can get a 20 gig IB for about $240. You would need a stick -> CF adapter.

I've taken two long trips with portable hard drives. They work fine. I don't believe that any of them will tether to camera. All require that you remove card and insert in PHD for copying.
