Nothing could beat a good cup of “café au lait” with a croissant in the morning, before going to school.

Didn't know they had a Boulanger in Maryland.

Well manicured, mother must be a visagiste.

I wish that I was as good as you to PP. Love the look of the eyes.
Dear Per, thank you for your kind comments!

Best regards,

Very fortunately, we lack anything in Maryland!...

This is one of those ones I try to achieve (if I'm lucky)--beautiful, just beautiful.

There is one small thing I would humbly suggest though: a little less eye sharpening. On my screen the eyes look a little overcooked.

Thank you very much, Peter. Don't forget the power of Photoshop! :)

Thank you for mentioning this. But is it possible that we have different setting in our respective monitors? Because curiousely, I often have the feeling that some of your shots are not sharp enough to my eyes!!...

But as you suggested, I will certainly be more careful in the future.

Many thanks,

As do the others I think your processing on this is superb - except that I also feel the eyes are too sharp - she has that "deer in the headlights" look. I'm not sure where this idea of eye sharpness came from - go over to the Canikon forums or on other sites and people seem to obsess over this. Many images - portraits, in particular - seem over-processed to me.

I also like the framing on this shot but I find myself a bit distracted by the hands - they seem a bit out of proportion. Not necessarily a bad thing but they compete with the eyes/face for attention...

Keith...

Look at the picture, not the pixels...

It's certainly possible. It may be my monitor (I only have a laptop).

Maybe others can offer an opinion, I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.

Either way, the image is stunning.

Thanks Louis,

Peter.

Love it! I really like the look of this picture. The light playing against the shadows, the choice of b&w, the contrast, and the subject all add up to a sweet image. Did you shoot this in dynamic b&w or is this all your special touch in photoshop? Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
John

Thank you again, dear Peter.

I viewed this shot from the forum on my laptop and I noticed that, indeed, it looks more shapened than on my desktop monitor.

So, I guess I have to be very careful in the future for those of our friends who are using a laptop. It is also true that my monitor is a few years older than my laptop!...

Therefore, your remarks have been very helpful.

Very best wishes,

Louis, Amazing. Great shot and PP.
Thank you very much, dear Steve.
Your work just keeps getting better and better.
Thank you again. If only I could live 100 years, hopefully I could become a good photographer! :) :)

Very best to you and your familly,

John, your kind comments are very much appreciated!

I always shoot in RAW and after some adjustments in Photoshop, I convert them to B/W in Silver Efex Pro. But I only have PS CS2, as I have noticed, CS3 and 4 have very good functions for B/W conversions!

Warm Regards,
