Thanks EVERYBODY for your support regarding my ban.

Welcome back Joe, I don't want to say banning you is good but now you know every one like you around here and for beginner like me, I need you around here. Thanks :).
I have read all the recent posts and was touched (and very flattered) by the outpouring of support for my situation. Clearly if forum members had not acted together and shown their strong support I would have remained banned (permanently no less).

So once again, everybody, thank you VERY much!

Also, rest assured your support has meant a lot to me, not because the ban was eventually lifted but because so many forum members stated their appreciation for my contributions to the forum. I certainly don’t claim to have been a perfect forum contributor but for the most part have tried very hard to be helpful to the membership.

So why was I banned … well, honestly, I just don’t know (though I would like to know the reason). I know the software/cracks thing was nothing but a huge mistake on DPR’s part. Perhaps I was banned for something other than software/cracks and somehow DPR made a mistake in the e-mail they sent to inform me of the ban.

Anyway, hopefully DPR will provide some explanation (I’m assuming they will eventually inform me via e-mail that the ban has been lifted). If DPR does not send the expected e-mail then I plan to “somehow” contact Andy Westlake to gain an understanding of what actually happened; it’s important to gain that understanding for a couple of reasons … first, I’m curious (and basically a nosey person) and second, if I was banned for a reason other than software/cracks then I’d like to work towards improving on whatever it was that I did wrong.

So, if I get a response from DPR soon, or in the near future obtain additional information from Andy (assuming I can actually somehow get in touch with him AND am allowed to pass along his comments to the membership) then I’ll reply to this post and let everybody know the “how and the why.” Who knows, maybe we can all benefit from my experience.

Best regards,

Joe Kurkjian

I went out to shoot my new 7D for a day and did not expect to see this when I came back. It's really a pleasant surprise. Keep up your good work on this forum!

Carl how is it to compared to your 50D. The features not IQ are really tempting and if the IQ printed proves better then icing!

I thought photography was about the images not fan boys! Enjoy your Photographic weapon of choice. I know I do!

Glad to see you are back!

(p.s. I love that "self portrait", the expression on the primate's face is priceless!)

Glad that this was resolved in your favor, Joe. You realize from the quantity of the comments as well as their content that you are a valued member of the forum. :-)
