The iPhone SE is essentially an iPhone 6s inside the shell of an iPhone 5s, and according to its makers is 'the most powerful 4-inch smartphone ever.' Camera specification is identical to the 6s: the SE comes with a 12MP iSight camera with Apple's True Tone dual-LED flash. Like the 6s it can shoot Live Photos, massive 63MP panorama images and 4K video. The front camera is the same 1.2MP FaceTime variant as on the 5s though.

The display is a 4-inch Retina variant, the same as on the iPhone 5s, but the SE comes with most of the 6s internal components, including the Apple A9 chipset and M9 motion co-processor. It also features hands-free Siri and Apple promises 'faster LTE and Wi-Fi and longer battery life.' Improved microphones, a Touch ID home button and a NFC chip with Apple Pay support are on board as well.
