Placed order with Newegg. Supposed to be on the list for the first batch they receive around first of Oct.

I spoke with Cathy (Kathy?) at Canoga Camera today, shortly after receiving the above email from Canoga. She said the camera should ship tomorrow, and even better, she threw in free 2-day shipping :) I also added a 430 EX flash.

Awaiting shipment notice...

Pre-ordered from Penn Camera in DC area and Amazon. Got a call today from Penn saying the camera is in their warehouse, and I can pick it up tomorrow. :) I promptly canceled my pre-order through Amazon.
 
I nearly ordered from Penn Camera - I have done so in the past, and they are a great local chain in the DC area. However, while I used to work close to their Rockville store, I don't anymore and find it hard to get there. I happened to stop by on Thursday and they said they had 42 people on their waiting list - I decided it wasn't worth becoming the 43rd, and now I'm relying on Amazon.

My vendor would not take pre-orders.

Waiting list only. Call when they arrive. Must be ready to place order when they call.
I've been calling everyday since Fri. They are saying tomorrow or Wed.

To everybody that has their 7D in their hands or in transit..... YOU SUCK!!!! 8-)
