Yup! It's the straw that broke the camel's back.Down since 9-24? What a joke? I don't like to go through the troubles of transfering my files but this may be the final straw.

I am a retired engineer, one of the things I retired from was Oracle, man I hated that interface.a technical disaster can happen to anyone,
I am a long time user of pbase, and have a lot of pictures on the site. I hope they get their system back up and running soon, but I am not upset. technical problems can happen to any site, and as an engineer I know how long it can take to get things up and running.
I have 2500+ images and 139 galleries and about 6-7 years with Pbase. Been pretty loyal. Been unwilling to change mostly because of the learning curve. Now I have just about learned Smugmug and Zenfolio. Not good for Pbase. My reason for staying just got demoted.what is more of a concern to me is what is happening on THIS site, dpreview. the quality of the postings really seem to have taken a nosedive. so many of the people that made this site great seem to have left or gone silent. there is so much whining and complaining and bad copy this and bad copy that. what happened?

I'm in a similar boat, I've been using PBase for 6-7 years only I have over 100,000 photos and 700 galleries.I have 2500+ images and 139 galleries and about 6-7 years with Pbase. Been pretty loyal. Been unwilling to change mostly because of the learning curve. Now I have just about learned Smugmug and Zenfolio. Not good for Pbase. My reason for staying just got demoted.
I agree. However, we don't really know the nature of the problem. It sounds like the hardware is back up but the database is still being restored to another server. DB restores can take forever....I understand accidents and systems going down, BUT, I don't understand a backup system not being in place.
...1 day I can understand.
...2 days start me thinking.
...3 days confirms IDIOT status.
I paid last week with 1 month left and I can't ask for a refund because their system is down.
I think Dpreview must store these locally.John_G:
Now you know why my wife doesn't listen to me.
I was hopeing for some feedback on Friday Night Football shots with the the 1DsIII and 200L 2.0 IS shot at F2 - iso3200 - 1/200th BUT I can't post because pbase is down.
Odd that you can see my Logo.
