If You Could Take a Picture Of Anything - What Would It Be?

1. It would prove they are not extinct. (For those who do not know the last Tasmanian Tiger died in captivity in the 1930's but there have been many sightings since then, but no proof) ???
2. The publishing rights to the photo would let me buy a 1D :-))

It's interesting what we are each drawn to. We can learn a lot about ourselves just by this question. If some answered w/ a person (except maybe the Brittney Spears post) then perhaps portrature is the way for us to go. I guess mine is architecture.

Just something to think about.

A little O.T. but hey I thought it would be an interesting
question. If you could travel anywhere on earth and take a picture
(or pictures) what would it be of?

My answer: The Taj Mahal.

Thanks,

John L

Actually I've been to the Taj Mahal, and quite a few other interesting places. Just because a place is fantastic doesn't mean the picture will be - I can attest to that :-(

So I guess my answer is that I wish I can have the skill and the vision to capture the essence of whatever is in front of me, in a different and exciting way.

Cheers
Ian

What if type questions stimulate the creative process.

This is a photography forum, so the question is totally appropriate.

If you thought it was pointless, why respond?

I like the jasper johns theory of creating art:
"Take an object. Do something to it. Do something else to it."

That said, my answer would be something like:
A nude, in front of the Taj Mahal. But, since that might prove
offensive to some, i'll go with A Female Nude on the Seychelles
Islands. Or, Tahiti, or Thailand, or Santorini, or Rio....
whatever. You get the point. I can't imagine a more interesting
subject than a beautiful woman, where ever it is.....

Well, not NOW, but back when he was alive. :)

My second choice would have to be my family, with their faces actually in the photos. Why do they always run for cover, hide behind things and cover their faces when I point the camera in they're direction?

p.s. great question.

The one where both people who put the D60 together work. Scheduling might be a problem, they work only every other Tuesday....

the canon assembly room is hilarious!

mine is simple:

a picture of all the bad guys and all the good guys in the world together fiinally reaching an understanding of 'live and let live'. they would all be outfitted with high end digital (canon preferred) cameras and challenged to 'take an excellent picture of your previous 'enemy'. their task would be never-ending (as we all know) and would cause them to fall in perverse love for photography (as we all know) therefore having little or no time to think of doing anything 'bad' ever again. their ability to live happily would completely depend upon their skill in producing a photo of and loved by their previous enemy.

a world of blissful, yet frustrated, perfection-seeking digital photogs.

(considering the above...i must have WAY too much time on my hands)

Yup that would have to be on the top of my list....

Many of them, actually. Unfortunately, my D60 consistently underexposes and front-focuses when i shoot deities in low-light situations.

I would take my photo just about when he is was committing suicide.

I think it would make a great poster for any future dictator to remind
him what happens in the end when they think they can take over
the world.

Or I would put the photo in a album with photos of the death camps,
photos of German cities after the war and a map post war Germany.
Just to remind those dictator and their supporters the cost the will
be brought on them if they continue on this destructive path.

The only thing we have now I believe a photo of his ashes.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
