Also, thanks for sharing any descriptive features about your entries: location, technique, special accessories, etc…it’s great to know that kind of stuff ;)

Thanks to the “fountain-deprived” for sharing some interesting alternative impressions ;)

…and to those currently “working” on the assignment, I hope you go out in the second half and……show us your fountains !!

Keep up the good fun,

For a great half time show, take a look at these fountains:

Well better a little late than never they say.

After taking a week to find a fountain I thought would do the job
(I walk past it every day on my way into work :P)and then almost
a week of constant rain or wind that would blow the sturdiest tripod
around, I left for work early tonight determined to get the shot.

After work sort out the goods, get ready to upload.. Hmm lets
have a look at whats in the Gallery, as I have been busy and not visited
for ages, whats this, Shutter has taken the same Pic! and better than
I got! Bugger! hehehehe ahhh well sort of salvaged the shoot with a
bit of a different "Dying moments" shot.

Hi everybody!

I contributed a fountain picture to the contest. Although it looks like I don't have a chance at winning because so many people uploaded a lot of fantastic looking photos.

But all the fountain photos makes me realize how common fountains are. They are practically everywhere.

Great idea for a contest!

Yeah, practically everywhere :(

I settled for a boat pic. My sink or shower pics weren't very interesting. I got up early one morning to try a gold mining dispay at a local park. The water that generally runs through the sluice box wasn't running. There is a diner with a soda fountain downtown, but thats more trouble than its worth.

I have taken some fall color pics already though.

My original intent was to photograph the fountain at the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Which I did. On the way back to my car, I noticed the fountains in front of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors building.

It turns out that the Federal Reserve fountain made a much nicer picture. The Korean War Veterans Memorial fountain just made for ugly photos, even though I photographed it from every angle I can think of.

Washington DC is an incredibly photogenic city, and there are great photo opportunities off the beaten tourist paths. I was the only person admiring the Federal Reserve fountains, even though a short distance away there were huge mobs of people visiting the Lincoln Memorial.

Yes, I understand what you're saying. There are alot of photo surprises out there waiting to be found. I especially enjoy the uncovered surprises of fountain photography...and looking at these galleries, for me, was like opening "presents". I really appreciated everyone's discoveries...and impressions. Thanks for participating.
