--I'm not sure what you mean by that comment. I'm thinking of buying either the LX3 or D-Lux 4 in the future and would appreciate some elaboration. Thanks.
 
Thanks Jim. It excels for documentary type work.
 
As the OP responded to me, the D-Lux 4 excels at documentary-type work. I found the gallery to contain quiet thoughtful shots, not action images.

I do not think the camera is inherently a portrait or action camera, but more for scenics, environmental, and detail photos. Of course, that is strictly my opinion. Others will likely prove me wrong. 8-) If I want to make a portrait, I'll pull out my Olympus E-1. Even better might be a Nikon D700 with 85mm f/1.4 Nikkor.

I hope that was clear enough. In any event, the D-Lux 4 is a truly excellent camera.
