Now that it's winter, I haven't been getting outdoors much to do any shooting. Fortunately, my cat is not camera-shy.

I saw the posts here about the Squirrel Shooter Group...is there a similar group for us cat photographers? ;)

Hello Mary

I love the first photo over the second one, because the first one has such a nice

angle for your cat. The lighting is just right and he or she seems to be looking at

something interesting( A treat maybe) to get those eyes to light up. Also don't let the cold weather keep you indoors. Just dress warm and get those photo gloves with the thin liner( they sell the liners at Sports Authority) and your hands would be fine. The 60mm lens is a great lens for this kind of shooting and cannot say enough accolades on the D90
My daughter has too cats and I really want to photograph them as soon as I can.

Hi Mary. I love your pictures. The softness and deep colors are amazing.

--Being an old timer here I will be able to give you the definitive answer to your question. Back in 2004 a girl from Sweden, named Petra (Powerpet) started CATS (Cute Animal Treasures Society) on the Nikon Talk Forum (NTF). I'm going to give you a good link that will tell you all about this Society.

Powerpet has been inactive on the forums for 2.6 yrs. In my opinion, you can resurrect that Society, or start your own, similar to the WSSA, which I take care of, and have a call for members. I'm sure it will be popular and is a great opportunity for forum members to post pictures of their pets. As you can see, on my signature, I am a [proud] member of CATS.

Take a look at Petra's threads. You should do it Mary!

Looking forward to your answer.

How about WSEA: Worldwide Squirrel Eaters Association.

Blinky the Shark should appreciate this.

Mary,

Those were great shots, I love the first one, I love the way you angle the shot. It would be nice if a Cats gallery is created. I am sure us Cat lovers will appreciate all those nice cat pics. Anyway I just thought I should share my favorite shot of my kitty Liam. Any C & C would would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Noel

The second one of the cat sleeping just took away all my stress when I looked at it. What a great moment and capture.

I think you should start a cat/dog thread. My cats passed away but I do have a dog.

I'm not really a cat person, but these are good ones!

Especially first one has hypnotic eyes!

Mary,

I hope you got the appropriate model release from your cat. A kitty cat treat would probably suffice for compensation.

Here's one of our 2 feline family members. They're actually much nicer than they look here; just very serious about their naps!!! Rob ;-}
