One great shot Peter, and you are right about the IS but the SS of the E100rs also comes into play. very nice. jar

Thanks to all, and such fast responeses! This is a fun board for sure. Yes, the high shutter speed helps. and so does the very high FPS and precapture. I also find the auto WB to be very accurate on this camera. Oh, and having the skiboat included was very thoughtful of Olympus...Peter

Fantastic shot. My son-in-law just bought a boat and the next time I visit my daughter we'll head for the lake. Did you do anything to help protect the camera from getting water splashed on it? That has been something I have been wondering about. Thanks and take care.

Thanks, Gary, Gene, and Michael. - I wasn't too concerned about spray on the camera as this is a freash water lake, salt water would be another story. Anyway, it wasn't hard keeping the camera dry...Peter

this is a fantastic shot!!! The color and sharpness of the image is amazing!

did you do anything with the wb? I think I am getting shadows in the faces due to the sun and how far out the skier is.

Nice pic! I see that the shutter speed is 1/2500. Did you
set that? In good light is that the optimum shutter speed?
I,m just curious because I want one of these cameras. The shutter
speed goes to 1/10000. What's the fastest speed you have shot
with good results--and is this another feature of the camera that
makes it stand out for action photos--or is 1/750 to 1/1000 usually
enough? Thanks for any reply.

KK- Thanks very much! I like your skiers, especially 5120018. You fill the frame more with the skier, and the spray creates a great backgroung. I think your shadows and low luminosity on some shots is an exposure issue, not white balance. I left WB in auto and am very impressed with the E-100, finding it's auto WB better than my Nikon D1H! But in your shots where the subject takes up less frame, I suspect you did not use EV compensation. The camera averaged the bright water spray, lessening it's brightness to not overexpose it, resulting in underexposed subject. Try center weighting mode, aperture priority, put the skier in the middle, add +0.7 EV, (experiment here), consider locking the exposure, and you may like the result. The one thing I miss on the E100 is a histogram, does the UZI have one? Anyway, thanks for sharing the pics...Peter

Hugh- Haven't done a lot of printing with the E100 yet, and my epson 1280 is out of ink at the moment! But there's no reason that the rapid aquisition mode would effect the quality. It's still the same resolution image, (SHQ). I plan to use Genuine Fractals, (a great add on, I wanted it anyway) and go for 8X10's with this camera, but so far have only printed some 5x7's, and they were fine...Peter
