Help ! Nikon Coolscan IV ED batch scanning problem ...

Have you tried Nikon tech support?
I wish I could help, but I only use this scanner for 35mm.
Try posting this in the 'Open' forum.

Set up the defaults you want under tools

then Settings --> Save settings to a name (APS-batch or similar)

then on the slide out (multiple frame) pick the frames you want to
scan (shift-click, or alt-click on pc to pick multiples)

AFTER picking the frames you want to scan, pick Settings-Load
settings-APS-batch (or name you saved it under)

this will apply those settings to each scan, if you load the
settings before picking the frames, the settins are only used on
frame 1, then back to defaults for the rest.

finishing shop) --- and found the resulting scanned image is much
"sharper" !?

"printed" image is better than scan using the Nikon on the APS
negative !?)

Don't know whether this is caused by improper use ?

Does he have "autofocus" checked on?
I wish I could help more, but I only scan 35mm film with no problems.
Post this question over at the 'Scanner' Forum at
http://www.imaging-resource.com There are quite a few Coolscan IV users
there.
