****** Challenge #58 -- Decay *******

i think you could've done better with such a great subject. you
centered it a bit too much. still not bad !
yeah i know, not entirely happy with that shot. I wanted to get a shot looking down onto the bath but not on top of it, if you know what I mean? Only I couldn't due to the fact the bath is on a ridge and there was a lot of junk surrounding it.

Check out my flickr for other shots of it...

Thanks for the comment!

great shot litto.
i would've cropped so the top of the letters on the bottom weren't
poking through but still great !
Thank you chosen1. I did consider it... However, I found that little red a) frames it, and b) tells you that there is more.

Ideally, I would have had more of it ("market") in the frame. However, while you can't tell by looking at the image I was standing in a very strange position to get that shot flat field... One of those times when live view would come handy ;)

trying to capture the feeling of desolation and slow destruction by blending the freighter into the background along with grainy distortion and drawing the focus to the approaching divers.

This is what is left of the Berlin wall, picture taken with my old but still very good fujifilm s6500fd

Caught this little guy sitting quietly on a dry bird bath one afternoon last week.

oh i see.

tell me about it...cant wait for my D90 to come in the mail. i was the first to bash the live view and video because "real photographers" wouldn't need it or use it, but now im the most excited person to receive it ;)

i almost like this one better due to a more interesting composition:

wow...great shot, not the most interesting composition, but still a
wonderful subject !!

Thanks - I stuck with a more conventional composition to keep the structure recognisable for what it is, but thought the narrow perspective of using telephoto would kind of emphasise this. I intend to go back for some more zany shots though!

I have not had any good opportunites to take sort of decay pictures I would like post, so I will enter with this. No human effects presented, so it requires a little bit imagination to find emotional side from this.

So,
Naturally:

Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. located in Berlin was built in the 1890s and partially destroyed in 1943. After the war the spire serves as a memorial.

I took this image today in dim light and heavy rain. I have no idea what else to contribute to this challenge and I wanted to get this over with instead of waiting for nicer weather ;-)
