poll: did you have to return your G2 because of defects?

Hi Guys!

I've noticed that there seems to be allot of faulty G2's out there and i'd like to get an idea how many G2 owners out there have had to return there cameras once or twice and for what reasons. If you had no problem - please respond any way so that i can figure out the approx percentage of G2 users on this forum that had no problem. It might be nice to know.

Went through 5 G2s to get one with a bad hot pixel.

Wow, glad you finally got one with a hot pixel. !!!! Is that a good thing?

I bought my G2 early January this year. Perfect out of the box. Still no cracks either. This camera is pretty durable too. You can normally find it in the saddlebag on my motorcycle. No problems as all.

I haven't returned mine, but I can't hook it up to a computer. I plan to bring it in to get fixed eventually (as soon as I can part with it).

My friend went to pick his new one up this weekend, but he noticed (while he was in the store) a burnt pixel. Now he has to wait while they get a new one for him.

Had to return the camera 5 times...first time because movie mode didn't work...second time the camera had some kind of distortion in the optical viewfinder...third and fourth times for having color problems...camera couldn't (and still can't) take a picture of the color purple..all blue/purples come out bright blue. I have a 5th camera which does the same thing (with the color purple) and will be returned tomorrow...most likely for an in-store credit until I decide which camera to buy...

Returned 2 black G2's. One with bad pixel on the LCD; one with noisy zoom. Did not try a 3rd one.

My week-old camera seems to have some sort of perpetual "CF card error" whenever I take a picture (viewing, uploading and downloading pictures is no problem though). It will go in for repair soon. I've never heard of this problem with anyone else though, so I think it must be a very isolated incident.

I had issues with AEB shots. Camera would shut down or act badly. CPU board was replaced under warranty and all is fine.

Hi Guys!

Now i can cast my vote - i just got my G2 two days ago and have shot about 400 pix so far - i havent fully tested every thing yet but so far very good - i am in photo heaven!!!!

Good luck to those of you who have had problems - hope they are resolved very soon!

this poll is only intended to give those of us an IDEA of what G2 users are experiencing when they receive their cameras.

I have a feeling, however, that those of us who have had problems are the most likely to respond - - to level the playing field, if you have not had problems, like me, drop a note - let your vote be counted!!
this truly is a great camera!
