Finally some good marketing communication from Nikon instead of the uninspiring sample images

nothing that great on the images. Yes nice images, dont see though how they show how great the camera is.

I know how great the camera is since we've seen D3 images. I hope its really the same quality as the D3 as they have stated.

maybe my eyes are bad ;).

Anyway dont think theres any doubt on the quality it can produce.

p.s much better than the other shots we've seen though

well after i saw the videos and understood the setting under which each photo was shoot its better for indicating the power of the sensor although we know already :).

erm, so anyone - watch the videos.

It would be nice to have the exif data hehe.

p.s mostly the refer to how compact it is. again and again and again

Agreed, Nikon really needs to beef up their server farm, bigtime - and it's a long time overdue ... interesting web design, although the music was quite distracting to me. Some of the shots of Kansas storm cloud formations were amazing.

Cliff

yes... nice site... probably pictures are mostly not taken with d700.
Wouldn't Nikon expect that any reasonable person viewing the site would assume that photos demonstrating the new D700 were taken by that camera. So if what you suggest is true, isn't Nikon misrepresenting the product?

That seems unlikely to me and why wouldn't they be taken by the D700. You think maybe Nikon don't have access to one or couldn't supply any to some photographers to test well before the announcement?

Travel - Doug Menuez - Great stuff - 2 thumbs up
Portrait - C.S.C - What a tasteless sham
Landscape - Jim Reid - What a freak

Rudi,

I first thought your assesment was a bit rude, but after watching the vids I would have to agree about C.S.C... I'm a wedding/lifestyle and Fine Art photographer and I cannot stand the flaky personalities of others in the wedding/portrait market.

Her work is good, but her personality is lacking in the vid imo - she came off a bit shallow (like so many in the wedding/portrait market).

Regarding Jim, I admire Jim's courage to stand in front of a tornado ... you have to be a freak to do that, but thank God for freaks like him. It allows me to see one up close and to admire its beauty.

Regarding Doug, based on the video I would say he is 'the real deal'.

He came off humble, honest and totally in love with his craft and the world around him. A true artist.

I agree, why did they have to pick the flakiest wedding photographer ever...
Yes, and could someone please tell Cherie how to hold a camera right!
Looks totally wrong that a pro wedding photographer holds it like
that.... ;)
