Nikon D700 Real photo leaked! Bulit in FLASH confirm???

The top of the 7 where the straight line connects with the side stroke doesnt look like it connects right. Hi mag reveals a little discoloration between the D and the 7.

Also, why are all these sample shots always low resolution. Image thieves need to carry hi res cell phones!

I think it's a fake. Look at the size of the 7 on the body. It has been stretched to fit in the area that the 3 was, and it is slightly angled and too high. Then look at the strap. The 7 is even skinnier than the one on the body.

You can blow up the image in ps and see the pixel manipulation.

nikon high end camera build in japan

nikon mid and low end camera SLR build in thailand

what is china row in this spoiler?

Actually, the text is in Chinese, but the essence is correct--it
claims the lens is a new 24-120mm.

In trying to judge the veracity of the image, can any one check the
consistency of the noise? I would think that a photoshopped image
would display very different noise characteristics in the altered
areas.
The hinged covers seem legitimate, no PS there, noise has same characteristic of rest of image (at least the histogram).

I also see a metallic ring on the top dial, which is not in D300 (but could be just backlight reflection).

I'm also seeing a higher prism top, not as in D3, but definitely higher.

This is looking legitimate to me.

Ya, iv twisted the image alot to see if I could find flaws. I havn't really found any. though I still think the covers are fishy

If this is the ring you are talking about.... its there on the D300

D300 does have one, it's the D3 that doesn't have it.
Take a pic of your D300 from the same angle?

Everything make sense to me, except the prism.
The top is too similar to D300, taking into account the angle. But
hinged covers are different and don't look PS'ed.

Also note there's a metal ring around top dial/button, not present in
D300.

I have to agree: the "7" on the strap is not aligned with the "D", even assuming the strap is twisting in that point... Anyway, I'm curious about all these signals that Nikon could be introducing something on july 1st...

Thanks for the D300 pic. I was requesting this above in this thread.

Prisms DO look very similar. It could be lighting that making "D700" one look bigger. But there's no way they can make a FF prism this size.

Conveniently noisy pic. Gotta ask why someone able to get their hands on a prototype can't take a low ISO pic with decent lighting. Strap showing the D and 7 with D700 logo on body to entice the senses. I want it to be real and it's fun to speculate but it's not the real thing...yet.

It probably is real and the quality makes sense. This was probably some NDA event and the person that took the shot probably did so on the sly with a cell phone camera with no flash (so no one would notice).

The overall quality of the shot is about what i get from my moto q under those types of conditions.

Also the lens on the camera doesn't look like my 16-85 (looking at the front elements).

If it is full frame, then an improved 24-120 seems to be plausible. The current one was meant for film and is not so hot for digital (kind of like the old versus new 60 macro). A new 24-120 would make perfect sense as a kit lens to compete with canons 5d/24-105 combo

It seems you do not have an invitation but a promise of getting one if and when something materializes. Could you please let us know when you receive the written invitation and what it says?
Me: ”There are rumours of a new FF Nikon camera. Do you know anything
about that?”
Him: ”Not sure there will be a FF, but I know they have a major Nikon
PR event for some SLR products in a week or so. Would you like to get
an invitation for you?”
Me: ”Yes.” (that was obvious :) )

So, I will wait and see.

Keep you informed.

... for a ”major Nikon event”.

I don't know if this is about the FF D700 (?) or something else,
however it will be something for sure and from Nikon.

I'll keep you informed.
The person that arranged for my invitation is the owner of one of the
most reputable photo gear retail businesses here.

So... I'm just plain curious. We'll see.

cheers

Here's a gif from David Chin's shot:

Look at the terminal cover on the right side of the "D700" fake, light comes like as reflection from table to the round parts in the front but there is no other part that gets this reflection, also the same parts around the corner get only light from upwards. Obvious fake, light can not hit that part that way. The 7 in the strap is obvious fake but this is even more so.
