because while you were not, Steve was:

posting new info on all three new Nikons, and

a complete review of the D100.

Mike:

Your post is absurd. Like most visitors here, we rely on multiple sites for our DC information. Do you eat at only one restaurant? Watch only one TV channel? Probably not. So what if Phil is behind. I'm certain there's been instances when he was "faster" than Steve.

Loosen up and enjoy.

If you read steves conclusion,....
he will update it when he receives a production camera.....
so steve is kinda late,....

have not been over steves site for a long time,.... since a lot of his new reviews, are looking canned, aka. N80.....

so far Phil has the most pleasant review,... while imageing-resources keep it technical....

from me, big applause for Phil !!

now guy and girls, and aliens (got to be polite), got to (on bottom)

and donate some green, blue, or credits to Phil, show your support.

cheers, Robert Schultz

....Phil brought out some other perspectives...

Just because one person has the scoop on a camera, does not negate another person's review of the very same camera. This is not how information is properly used.

Gather ALL information from ALL reviews about the same camera, and make your decisions.

Having just one perspective on any camera, is rather myopic and just plain retarded in thought.

Since the other guys have put you straight about putting your foot in your mouth with what must be, for you, an embarrassing gaff, I will just add this: why did you feel the need to be so insulting in your post? Don't you get a fantastic FREE facility here or are you paying fees we don't know about? Maybe you have some kind of problem whereby stamping on anyone less than perfect gives you a buzz. Well time for some self injury then because you got it so wrong this time huh?

Huh?

I was about an hour earlier than Steve posting previews of all three Nikon's (lots more information than Steve), I posted my D100 preview ages ago and updated in the last two weeks (again, much more detail than Steve who has only posted a first look, not a review).

What's your major malfuction Mike?

Um, not only that, I'm not sure how you can call it a review, since I don't remember seeing any sort of opinion whatsoever on the camera. The only thing he shows are images of it and it's statistics. This is a review?

Yup, I was ping-ponging between here and Steve's waiting for the release info. Phil was WAY ahead of Steve. Perhaps 1-2 hours.

Why are you coming to the restaurant if you don't like the service?

I for one dismiss your criticism. Go somewhere else if you don't like the site, but please don't try and start something up here.

It would be better if he actually had a real complaint.

You know, maybe I'm just too optimistic, but I read the original poster's message in exactly the opposite fashion as has been the case for everyone else here.

Steve's site had a news item posted on the 27th (it's gone now) that stated that, depsite the fact that there had been a dearth of news, Steve was in fact not sleeping, and that there were some new camera reviews coming on Wednesday (today).

Look carefully at the original poster's (somewhat tortured) grammar. He says that Phil was not sleeping, and that Steve was. He seems to be telling Phil that he has earned some rest by scooping Steve, who was asleep at the switch.

Clearly the original message could have been better written, regardless of the intent of the poster. I just don't think that the intent was necessarily that which others in this thread believe it to have been.

By the way, I read both sites as well, and am pleased to have such keen competition between them. I believe it has lead to the overall excellent quality of reporting that we have today.

My two cents worth.

Is English your native language? Maybe there's some misunderstanding here... maybe you've got confused with the words????

I surely can no believe this cheap statement if it is not the case!!!!!

At first I thought "Go back to sleep, Phil" would mean that Phil seemed to worked some days and nights without sleeping for us... So much updates and content!

Phil, you have done an awesome job! I appreciate it very much. This is was your site makes so special to come to. If one didn't find the information here he/she don't have to look further...
Thanks a lot!

Jack.

The significant problems we face can not be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.
(A.E.)

I for one visit this site, Steve's, DCResource, and Imaging Resource daily. You never know which site is going to post what first for a number of reasons, one of the biggest of which is that different sites have different relationships with the various manufacturers and get different equipment on different schedules. Today was a perfect example. Poor Jeff over at DCResource didn't even get a heads up from Nikon. But he often has other news out the door first. If you have ever spent much time on these sights you would know that the editors of all of them regularly post updates informing the readers what's new at the other sights. I think this highly admirable for competing sights.

That's why I wondered in my previous post if English was his native language. Not being mine I know confusion arises sometimes...
