A few shots from last summer. Went on vacation to visit a friend in Stockholm, then down to Rome for R&R, drinking, eating! Wonderful food if you get a block or two away from the more tourist-dense areas. Very sunny light the whole time in Rome, but still managed to have fun with my aging D2x. Can't wait to go back. No tripod allowed in the colosseum...would be a great place to see the advantage of the D3. A haunting place it is, even today. Quieting.

Gosh, I felt as though I was one of the best photographers in the world.

But now..., now I feel overly humbled! :-)

Great Work!

BTW: I like most Images 3, 5, 8 and 12, with Number 5 being my favorite.

Wonerful images!

You're an inspiration...

Thanks for posting!

Some really great stuff there Dana. Thank you so much for sharing.

HOWEVER, you should know what I'm about to say if you know me at all.

STORIES, TECHNIQUES... makes the images SO much more interesting. The art value is high, but knowing what I'm looking at, why you took the photo, how you took the photo, what conditions the photo was taken in adds so much.

It's beautiful by itself, it's intriguing with some details.

Thanks very much for your comments, Todd. I agree - I should have taken the time to make some more comments between pics. Wife pulled me out the door while I was in the middle of the post - I have another series I mean to post this week from an anti-war march here in Washington DC; I'll be sure to make some more comments. Thanks again. Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Hey RF - thanks much for commenting. How's that Big Ol' Apple?

I've been putting a lot of energy into guitar, to the detriment of my photography efforts. I'll be back in it more this spring. Maybe we could have a drink up in Manhattan. Interested?
Very Nicely Done ! I havent seen your work for a long time. Good
to see that you still have that artistic eye :)

How about this ? I should say the first Stockholm panorama is taken so, that photograph stands on the street that is called: Fjällgatan. Is this right ?

I have seen this view every day last 13 years every day, I am mailman of Fjällgatan.

It is nice pic of the view that local citizens are proud of. Summertime there is a seller that sells same kind of panos on the street.

Some say world is little, not me, world is big. This kind of happenings are rare.

Do you have more Stockholm pics ?

Good day, Jouni

jouni-

What a lucky soul you are to live in Stockholm - so beautiful - buildings and people! It appeared to me that 3 of 4 ladies in Stockholm must be magazine models. Lovely city - I look forward to returning.

I'll try to post some more shots from Stockholm. Cheers

Harris, thanks very much. Have you upgraded your D2x to a D3 yet? Though I daresay the D2x might be better in some ways for birding than the D3. Hope all is well. Cheers
