1DsMKIII owners may want to check out this lens test ...

I'm both a Canon and Nikon shooter, and I must say this test is quite
an eye opener.
The detail the new Nikon (14-24mm f/2.8 G AF-S) is pulling off of the
new Canon 21Mp sensor is jaw dropping. The new adapter sounds like
this could be quite the best WA solution for quality.

How about some info on the lens and adaptor? I could not find the lens at B&H, and it has dropped off the latest news list here.

Awesome lens; I just wish it had of been a 16-35 f/2.8

Just call me Sir Scott or even Great Scott - Seriously, I'm joking.
very impressive indeed.

I'm a bit confused though by his test which is a rarity for 16-9 actually ..

target distance was 15m away at 5.6 which means plane of focus (DOF) starts at 9 feet with hyperfocal set at 11feet, but near corner he mentions it being 5 feet away .. it's almost as if the nikkor is stopped down further because DOF should be between 11 feet and infinity at 24mm / 5.6 on a 5D.

from what I've seen the nikkor has outstanding performance very truely a stellar lens so I'm not bringing this up to belittle it - just curious on other's thoughts about that - as you can tell the 24mm is moving out of the plane of focus.
(last picture set, first page). could it be field curvature?

Shame that Nikon won't make Canon EOS fit lenses because there is no way that Canon are capable of making a 14mm zoom that good - they can't even make a 16-35 which matches a 20yr old Nikon 20-35 for F2.8 performance at the wide end - canon make all round the best Telephotos IMO, even the 70-400 F4L IS makes a Joke of Nikon's top 70-200 VR model (matches theit 180mm F2.8 Prime for sharpness and beats it for Bokeh & CA !!)and have a superb range of cheap sealed tack sharp Image stabilized F4Ls which Nikon are missing badly but when it comes to FF lenses wider than 24mm, canon SUCK..

anything below 24 on a FF is wider than I need. I wonder how well the new 24-70 Nikon compares to other glass in this range? If as good as the 14-24, it would be worth a look.

Thats how I have understand it,
But it look like a nice lens.

But if I understands it right you can't have any filters on it and that also a problem atleast for me
