CUSTOM ABCD on D300: how do you use it?

Nothing fancy, set for the standard settings used for each type of activity.
A - Standard everyday
B - Nothing yet
C - Sports (Indoor)
D - Sports (Outdoor)

A is set to FLASH
B is set to non flash

pretty much the same settings in each except the ISO settings. I like auto ISO for non flash shooting and ISO 400 for flash.

Nothing on C/D yet.

Don't remember all settings right now without looking at the camera but below are a few settings that I change in the memory banks. Of course these could all be done without using the memory banks but I use this to give me a good starting point and then I make any tweaks that I might need to from there.

AF illum assit off
ISO
max continuous shots in CL and CH
AF-Area mode
WB (Pre for indoor)
JPEG compression (size priority, achieve max FPS with grip)

I recognized the the link and remembered the thread and did some pasting.....

Put "Custom Settings Bank", "Shooting Bank", and "Save/Load Settings" together into your "My Menu".

Then it's easy to change all settings together, and also load to undo any changes you make during the course of a shoot. I have my settings banks organized using the Excel spreadsheet from Nikonians, so I always know what I'm starting out with.

I keep the settings pretty much fixed, I do have D Bank set for Commander mode for my SB800, that way I don't have to go too deep in the menu to change to Commander mode

I can share my settings and send them via eMail if you would like. From there you could set your own. I started with the Excel sheet and set my settings on to that spread sheet.
