Has anyone had the chance to look at the DVD that comes with the E-3? I have just finished looking at it and it sells the camera very well albeit after, rather than before purchase. It was good on lots of the advanced features that I may never use but are nonetheless superb.

It's a good DVD but really should be freely available to all prospective E-3 purchasers rather than an addition to the box contents.

I was luckily enough to be given an additional copy by the Olympus guys when I picked my E-3 up on Thursday.
Anyone wanna copy?

I would love to say that I have taken loads of outdoor shots with my camera but the weather here in the UK since Thursday has been uber-c* p although I couldv'e tested the weatherproof-ness I suppose ;-).
Maybe tomorrow!

Where was it in the package?

Anybody get one who purchased E-3 in USA??

I bought mine in California camera store and do not seem to find it

Thanks!

I got a few from the OLY reps at the kickoff party. I have an extra and may be able to get more. If you want one send me an email.

I bought the camera from the a store in the UK and I didn't find any DVD. I wonder if only a few in the UK have got it with their E-3.

I sent a Email as well I would like a dvd also I did not get one with my E3. Maybe it is something not offered in the USA.

I guess it's a bonus material for Europeans. My Finnish E-3 has a sticker on the box stating "FREE: Extensive user's guide on DVD." Is that what you mean? I haven't watched it yet though.

Really looking forward to the free grip and backpack rather than this DVD.

Let's get Olympus America to get us some copies, I really need this kind of tutorial, if that is what it is.

thanks for letting us know,
Lory

... I wasn't interested in the DVD so I didn't even check if it was in the box. Now that I checked, it isn't there. Sticker on the side of the box clearly states that it's included but it just isn't in the box. I even checked under the cartons. I guess I have to ask Oly Finland about this.

The Oly rep I talked with a week ago Friday at the downtown Chicago Calumet store mentioned this DVD. He was expecting his first shipment later that day. From what he said, it sounded more like promotional than instructional material -- the rep offered to hold one for me if I came back the next day even though he knew I'm not planning to buy an E-3 till spring. Unfortunately, the weather ruled out a return visit.

I didn't realise that only a few have received this DVD! It is promotional rather than an instructional thing. There are interviews with a German and Czech (I think) pros and lots of footage of a 'pro' touring the countryside in his 4x4 with an E-3 and a load of lenses looking for photo opportunities. In one scene he goes into a cave and decides to to take some 'studio-type' shots of a rock formation (or similar). He then magics about three of the new FL-50R flash units on tripods and starts firing away. All very strange.

The DVD does give an insight into many of the E-3's finer points and is worth watching (if you can get one that is). At the end (it's about 40 minutes long) one of the credits reads Olympus- Europa so I guess it's just for us over here.

I have had one request for my spare copy so as long as I am reimbursed the postage that person can have it.
I will email that person now.

i think i was the first to ask for your dvd and if you try to email me i would appreciate it.

I didnt get a DVD probably because I live in the US of A .... if we want a DVD here we will buy it with our failing economy and all ...

Strange that I got a DVD with my E-3 here in the UK whilst many others didn't. It's not the sort of thing that you would view over and over but as a means of showing off all the camera's features it seems pretty good. There are some nice bits with a guy taking pictures from the river waterline from a canoe. The E-3 gets a bit of a soaking and a bashing on the side of the canoe!

Anyone wanna copy?
Perhaps someone who has a copy will make the DVD's VIDEO_TS file folder available on a bit torrent site such as mininova.org

No DVD in my E-3 kit box either. No sticker on the box either, nor is it mentioned in the manual...

Ps. Xargo, I am selling your old E-500 to my friend, creating one more Olympus-using minion ;-)

It would be awesome for all Olympus E-3 enthousiasts if somebody in posession of the DVD could rip it and share it with us. Either by Bittorrent or by Rapidshare or both. Is someone around willing to do this?
