D300 & head-on action

I'm not an experienced action shooter, by any means, but the D300 seems to handle it quite nicely.

The only PP on these are cropping, some D-Lighting, and converted to sRGB & jpg. I didn't do any curves or sharpening as I was just interested in the AF performance.

I really have to credit the camera - I was just sorta hangin' on to it while it did its thing!

The lens used was a 70-300 VR with VR off.

Very nice shots. I love the frozen action. It looks like the AF is working very well.

I love rottweilers. What is he mixed with?

She's a rescue and is constructed of Rottweiler, Black Lab, and Border Collie.... truly a most confused canine!
