Which one would you get? E-3 or a car?

The camera and a bike would be my choice!

Food for thought: a young photographer in China asked me some years ago whether I knew what Chinese painters, poets or sculptors would do when they became famous. I did not know. He said they would change their names to see whether they were still any good.

haha

Well I work almost half of the week from home. And I won't walk if I don't buy a car because I'll use her car. She doesn't want me to get a used car because of safety and maintenance. I'm a car person too so it's kinda hard for me to choose (cmon you know how it feels to decide between 2 toys! haha)

About the 40D... that is not mine. It's the church's equipment. Yes I have one of them with me all the time but I want my own hehe. (Besides the 40D sucks! hahaha)

My '81 Subaru (bought well used in 1987 with 125,000 miles) cost me $1300.00 I can get to Yellowstone in a few hours, as I have for the last 20 years in this same great little car. The camera gear I take with me cost far more.

E-3...walk around with your camera - it's easy to take pictures if you aren't driving at 75mph

My car also got damaged over 12 months ago. The insurance payout enabled me to buy my first dslr(E-500). The car was only cosmetic damage and continued to work fine.

My cars are never worth much. It is easy to get respectable used cars in UK. My latest car only cost 300GBP. My Olympus kit is about 3000GBP.
I can't remember the last time a car failed on me!
:o)

...Australian dollars and AU$4000 isn't going to get you a very good car, unless you are very lucky. One of the most common complaints by those on long-term visits to Australia is the price of our cars, especially used ones. The main reason for that is our rather small population; cars tend to cost way more than the equivalent in the US.

Cheers

and then ramraid the nearest camera store, best check they have the E-3 in stock before you do this!

What on earth do you guys pay for cars in the US? I couldn't buy a
half decent, less than 10 years old, roadworthy car, for the price
of an E3, 12-60mm and 50-200mm in Oz. In fact, I wouldn't even
consider buying a car at that price in Oz, unless it was for a
demolition derby.
my ex NSW Police hwy cruiser fits that description
