Hello!

I don't know if I'm the first poster from Yellowstone, but even if I'm not...

Taken at the Chapel of the Transconfiguration, Moose, WY (Grand Teton National Park). Quickly processed on my small laptop screen... Will re-do when I get back.

More pictures to be posted to my "2007 Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks" gallery.

Awesome! Im going to be there this thursday! any tips on the weather there, locations, lighting conditions, or anything you noticed since you are there would be great. keep posting pics as well.

Doesn't look like a lot of fall color is showing. I am arriving 9/23 and am interested in any real time updates on weather, animals and foilage.

Thanks.

David

Have a wonderful time.

BTW, your pic really popped with a touch of USM. I bet you'll have a lot of fun "uncovering" your pics when you get the chance.

In the Tetons, no, not much color yet though further north around Oxbow things are starting. Up in Yellowstone colors are further along. With cooler weather forecast for this week, things should be hoping in the next week.

So far I haven't really taken that many photos. I edited this on the laptop ... I'm not sure how good it will look.

Any way we're having a great time.

The 20D still works.

Nice shot and timing! Looks like he is just coming in to land. Was this eagle just a few miles inside the park from the west entrance?

The eagle was about 5 miles in from the West entrance.

Just dreaming. I'm setting out to drive to Grand Teton from Texas tomorrow and I would love to see the Aspens in their full glory. If not, there's always Photoshop ;-).

it sounds like you might see some color up in Yellowstone. Once it starts, things can change pretty fast. The aspens are incredible -they glow.

I wish you luck.

The Elk definitely have the spirit of the season!

This one was taken about 1/10th of a second before Bill's:

It was nearly dark when Henry and I came upon this scene (along with about 50 other photographers). I had my Bigma mounted on a tripod with ISO 1600 (for this shot, 3200 for later shots), and I still couldn't get a clean shot. It was just too dark.

But hey, the experience still can't be beat. This is a momma grizzly and her three cubs eating from a bull elk carcass.

Looks like a great start considering it is the first day. Good thing about photography over hunting, there will still be animals for me to shoot when I arrive in Yellowstone next week.

Great shots and lots of fun.
