Hello all,

Finally, I had some time to create another E-20 album.
It will probably be my last E-20 album since the D60 should be on it's way.
But, as usual, I enjoyed shooting this album.
Here's an example:

For most of the images, I used the Cokin P120 gradual grey filter to darken the sky or top part of the image.

As it will be the last E-20 album, it's dedicated to all of you, my "Oly" friends from over here to express my gratutide for having so much "patience" with a guy like me and for all the things I've learnt over here regarding photography.

The album can be found where it should be: on the "special ..." pages on Belgium Digital ...

Kind regards,
Jaja

Hello Richard,

Hello Ger Bee,

Thanks.
And no, I'm not sure what you mean ... I only can guess.
Could you clarify it up for me? ;-)))

Kind regards,
Jaja
No truer word - almost - you are aware of what nearly transpired
today?

Hello Jaja

I hope all is well with you and yours. Thanks for being there to inspire, educate, and share your experiencies with your Exx's. It has been a great help to me in my pursuit of great photo art. Be sure that I will keep an eye on belgium digital as it is a great site. BTW the shot looks like the blooms from my apple tree. I lost a lot though in a late freeze.
Peace Be With You: Will Walton

Hello Will,

Thanks.
And everything is quit alright over here.

Just a pitty I have 14 days of schoolvacation and still no new camera to experiment with ;-)))

It would be very nice if you keep visiting Belgium Digital. The Oly pages will stay online of course ...

And yes, that shot is of an apple tree. In our region, we have a lot of those "fruit gardens", in fact, our region is famous for it.

When there's a chance of frost, the farmers sprinckle water on the threes to prevent the blooms to be frozen.

Kind regards,
Jaja

Hey Jaja, as always a lovely album. I think I shot my last E-10 photo sometime last week, as I have had my D60 now for almost a week, and plan to put the E-10 on ebay tonight.

You are going to love the D60.

See you around the block,

Hello Jaja, I enjoyed each one of your pictures. A real pleasure. You made that tree "the" tree. I'll look forward for seeing your D60 albums in the near future. Best regards,

Jack.

Hello Matt,

Thanks.

I sold my E-10/E-20 and all the other Oly gear, but the buyer of the E-20 will have to wait untill the D-60 arrives. I still have a number of assignments that have to be done - and that's hard without a camera ;-)
So, the E-20 is still in full action.

I did have a preproduction D-60 thanks to Canon Belgium, so I was able to have a "taste" ;-)
Now waiting for "my" camera ...
Here are the lenses I ordered:
  • Canon 28-135 IS USM
  • Sigma 17-35 f 2.8-4.0 EX IF ASF
  • Sigma 50-500 f 4.0-6.3 EX RF APO (did you see Andreas' bird photos?)
And since I'm a "heavy" users, I ordered also the extra battery grip and two extra batteries.
Oops, all this don't belong in this forum ... ;-)

Kind regards,
Jaja

Hello Michael,

Thanks.

More E-20 test from me will not be possible since the camera has been sold, but not delivered. But Jaco and Sven still have their E-20's, so who knows ...

Hello jyamuy,

Thanks.

Well, "that" tree is my favourite tree and I like to shoot it during the various seasons. It's at about 25km from my home, but worth the trip imho.
So, there will be D60 shots of it of course ;-)

Kind regards,
Jaja

Hi Jaja

You'll be missed here - but although I've joined the 'dark' side, I'll still be lurking around Belgium digital to see how you do with your new toy.

I'm keeping my E10, still love it, but the E20 has gone.

kind regards

Hello Jono,

The investment in lenses made in not possible to keep an "E-...".

I initially planned to start with 1 lens (28-135mm), but since I'm a hugh tele-freak, I need a strong tele ...

And I have an assignment shooting postcards for a town, so that 17-35mm is needed also.

This weekend, there was an article in a Belgian newspaper about Belgium Digital and it's "foundator", and that gave me new free-lance jobs ;-)

We were also mentioned in "EOS-Magazine" (no, not the Canon one ;-), a scientific Magazine over here, and they used as title "The most beautifull digital images" - and oops, again a new response ...
So, things are speeding up over here ;-)))

Thanks for lurking on Belgium Digital - I'm also "following" your Nikon shootings ...
Oh boy, 3 forums to watch now ;-)))

Kind regards,
Jaja

Jaja,

You truly have been one of the unexpected gems I have found while getting into photography. God bless you in your life. God bless and good health to your wife.

Thanks for being you,
Brent

Sounds like a nice package Jaja...let me know (privately if you prefer) what you think of that Sigma 50-500 (yes I did see that great shot), I also looked at that lens but decided to go with the Canon 35-350 since it also has a long range, but starts right where my other lens (20-35) leaves off, so I didn't need to spend the money on an in-between lens (for now at least).

And the extra batteries / grip are a must! I have mananged to wear mine down a couple of times already, even though I have 3 batteries total. I haven't really paid attention to the number of shots I am getting yet, since they won't really be their best for a few charging cycles, but would estimate about 600+ with 1 little bar left (approx 15-25% remaining) on the battery meter, and that is with fairly heavy LCD usage.

See you around,--Matt Chase http://www.matthewchase.com- The part time Ergo...Well, I played him on TV once.

Like the end of a long running Broadway Show in New York City, when
the actors and actresses come out for the last curtain call. I stand up from
my chair and give a heartfelt applauded to Jaja's E## Broadway show.

For sharing his photos, answering questions, answering the same questions
over again like it was the first time, sharing his personal life and most of all
sharing his passion with photography with all of us.

Looking forward for your next Broadway hit.

And it only cost me two cents!

Bill

I learned a new trick. Woof woof.

This is probably pretty way off topic, but thought Jaja might like to know so he doesn't fall into the same trap as I did (not that he would...he is smarter). The battery meter on the D60 only indicates power for one battery at a time, starting with the one in the left hand slot of the vertical grip. So all the while I was thinking I was running down both batteries, turns out I was only low on 1 of them.

Good batteries.

Bad me.--Matt Chase http://www.matthewchase.com- The part time Ergo...Well, I played him on TV once.
