Ahh the WTC in lights! Outstanding Uly!!

I take it there was just the right amount of haze/smog in the air to get it that perfect (and tall).

Sweet!

Wow!! I was just thinking about you. :))

I can't believe you responded so quickly.

I took this in Liberty Park. This puts you surprisingly close to the lights.

It was SOOOO cold and windy when I shot those. I took several. Here is another favorite. I wish we'd gotten there earlier so that th Moon would have been lower.

Thanks much, Stever.

Yes, conditions were just right in many ways. But it was as cold as all get out! And VERY windy out there on the water.

There's a really nice new restaurant nearby, though. They opened only four days ago. They were intended to have opened around September, but then the disaster happened. In the wake of the tragedy, it's now one of the most beautiful spots in that particular area. Lovely restaurant. Great location, especially at night. We warmed up there and had a FANTASTIC dinner (salmon, ahi, pork chops, chicken... whatever you'd like...).

We still have the telepathy working, right ;-)

The map helps me to understand where you took it. Regarding the cold weather, be careful with the batteries. Left in below the freezing temp, my 505V batteries looked to be dead. It took few full cycles to restore them.

I know what you mean. I'd usually give the same advice, but the battery of the F707 is much sturdier... well, so far anyway.

I took it out one night for a meteor shower, and I was out for about 2.5 hours on a full charge. The battery still had nearly an hour left on it (which turned out to be accurate). The temperature that night was about 12º F.

Beautiful Ulysses... the clouds look wonderful. Liberty park is where I shot some of mine from too, and yes, you get very close... it's a good vantage point for pics of the tribute.

Phenomenal. "My goodness!!!!!" Spectacular and breath taking! This is truly a POTD, no POTM, no .... POTY! This is the best one I've seen yet. Composition, and quality is phenomenal. You seem to do your best work when it is cold out and you are freezing. Maybe you have some X5 blood too! Hehehehe. :-)

Thank you Amy. It's my first time there, but it will not be the last.
