iMac memory upgrade

I've purchased the new 24-inch iMac with the 2.4 gHz processor and 1gb of RAM. I plan on upgrading to 4 gb of RAM. A friend recommended these folks for third party memory. Is anyone familiar with them and used their memory? Here is the link to the memory I'm considering:

OWC is a very reputable shop. I buy stuff (especially drives) from them all the time.

Conchita, when you ordered the 24" from Amazon, did you get the 1gb RAM and are you going to add more? I questioned that initially when we talked on the other link. Some user comments thought 1 GB wasn't enough.

Also, I notice today is the last day to buy in order to get the $100 reabte.

Thanks for that confirmation.

By the way, I read another thread you wrote regarding a $100 rebate on the 24-inch iMac that Amazon is (or was) running. I bought my iMac from the local Apple Store and got a $100 student discount (I'm a photography student) and a free iPod Nano (mail in rebate for the entire amount).

VERY good shop....I get all my ram from them.

I have 4 gigs coming for my 24" iMac as well from them...should be here tomorrow (though the iMac won't until 1-2 weeks due to build to order config).

Though I am a bit worried about the RAM as someone in another thread mentioned that the brand new iMacs using a ram stick that is slightly longer and the ram used in the white iMacs won't work...but every site i've seen sells the same ram for both. Has anyone got extra ram and installed it already in their iMac?

I chatted with Crucial sales rep today and asked directly about the 'size' issue, and he said, to quote, "That is false."

The reputable resellers guarantee the compatibility of their products and will replace the RAM if it doesn't work properly, but it's also true they have an interest in saying that the products on their website will work in your config.

So I don't yet know the real story.
