I just got into photography so be gental on the composition. Here are some pics that I took with my new lens. The damn elk in the one pics almost killed me, just after I took the pic he dropped his head and started to charge me and another guy. He didn't try real hard but I got the message anyways.lol I am shocked at how fast the lens comes into focus. The eagle my wife loves, going to get that one enlarged.

These are very nice images overall. I think they could really benefit from some fairly simple PP to make the pop; they seem a bit underexposed (1 & 4), but that is easy to fix AND those are your best posted shots... Great lens!

Having fun with photos. A little searching can go a long way.

equipment in profile...

One thing to watch with this lens is to where exactly it focuses. I have it very often. Check this pic - I think the focus is slightly in front of the animal...
While here the focus is on the grass, which is behind the animal
The eagle is amazing. How did it let you so close??

thanks for the tips guys. The eagle was a fluke shot, I am sitting down screwing aroud with my camera when he land on a brach about 20 feet away and just looked at me for about 20 seconds and then flew off.

Great shots. Where did you take them? That some menagerie that you've captured.

I really like the elk. I could almost feel the velvet of the rack. Fortunately you didn't have to literally feel it!

Did you use a tripod on any of the shots?

No I didn't use a tripod, I was worried he would move while I was setting up my tripod. Just grabbed my camera when I seen him. I just got back from yellow stone, awesome trip.
