Post your summer pictures !

Fabulous images Matt, please keep them comin'

Now I dont wanna 1Ds3, I want H39 instead! Oh Gosh.

You have definitely a real talent, no doubt, but why do you wash so carefully colors and contrast ?? This is noticeable specially on the third and on the last 2 shots. Do you pull down the highlight or do much recovery to get texture in the sky ??

That said a couple of mine using my last heavy gift of Canon, a mint 200 f1,8

A cat (it was time for me to post one, I never did it, fool...)

A friend of mine pulling my daughter

And a couple of technical ones as my summer is also made of work

And the mot incredible and at the same time the less "interesting" in terms of photography skills but made possible thanks of ISO 3200 on the 5D. The LEQ and A weighted dB level of a French concert. How do you say that... a "future generation of potentially deaf people " ??

Ludo--I couldn't see the cat LOL--or your daughter. I liked the first one of your technical work especially.

I wasn't sure what you meant by 'wash so carefully colors and contrast'. So--I'm taking a shot that this is what you mean. I process all my pics---on those I'm sure I used a gradient layer rather like an ND filter'mask to bring out the skies. I do sometimes use toning, perhaps a touch of Lucisart on a layer and masked, curves, and I do bring up as much as possible with drop of exposure, fill light, recovery, etc. in RAW.

Hope that answers.

Thanks for your comments. Waiting to see your cat (not sure why I can't--I can see all your 'work' pics).

I've had the camera for almost two months now, and this is what I've been able to achieve. Not much, but represents some typical swedish summer views.

The following lenses have been used with the 1D Mark III:
24-70/2.8L
70-200/4L
100/2.8 Macro

You can't see my cat ?? Actually is not mine, is one of my friends cat but I'm now a proud DPR poster, a real one, with a cat shot. Hope technically you can see it now, forgot to unlock the -forum- function...dumb Ludo, that will be my new surname !!

Yes for the shots I found them what we call in France délavé, washed out, the kind of texture that I get using Photomatix and doing HDR's without spending enouth time tweakening each shot. Specially they miss on my screen some blacks. On the histogram, don't they look a bit on the right side and with a hole on the left side ??

That said nice, very nice composition. maybe give Photomatix a try, this soft worths it
