Absolutely! The only cable release I can find in the UK is for the E10. Will
this be OK for the E20?

UK
Hi Richard, Yes they are the same, look for prices on the web, try Jessops outside Canterbury, on Sturry Road opp Asda, for a price match...you might be lucky.Sure, they are one and the same.
Howdy Richard and Mike.
I know Kent is a rather large area, but I was interested in knowing
if either of you were near Margate?
The reason I ask, is my mom grew up there during WWII. The last
time I was there was back in '75 so I'm sure it's changed since.
Well, maybe not Dreamland.
I have an Uncle who still lives in Cliftonville. Hoping to get over
there this coming May and see him atleast once more.

--Richard HuntUKI broke my cable release last week when I was out taking pictures
at fernwood.

All that work and no commment. I was wondering what people thought
of my second picture in the album. I thought that came out the
best.
I broke the connection where you go to plug it in. I was wondering
if anyone knew if I could send this in for repair or am I stuck
spending another $50 dollars or so to get another one. I really
liked this little piece of hardware. This was also the first time
I used it.
Any help would be appreciated
Michael

Won't help with this one, but someone recommended NOT to fasten the connector with the screw cap, but just plug it in. The idea was to avoid breaking it but just let it pull out if you accidentally tug or trip on the cord.I broke the connection where you go to plug it in.
David,Has anybody tried to find a manufacturer for the Remote Cable Release
connector?
Mine broke too, this week. With very little pressure on it. The
connector that goes into the camera is quite brittle -- it takes
very little to break it. In researching posts I saw that at least
two others had the same problem in recent months. And no one has
found a replacement for the plug. I think there's a design problem
here.

Sure Dwayne -I need a remote for the E-10. Would you folks tell me where I can
find one in the US
Thanks
dwayne
Drat. I was just about to order one. Just how did it fail?? Did it get tugged on or pulled out and the connection broke? Is it something that I can be aware of and take measures to keep it from happening?? I will be using it in a controlled situation. The only wired remote that I know of for the E-10/20 is the RM-CB1
made by Olympus. I got one at Adorama; I see that B&H also sells
them:

It's about $53. It's a very useful tool -- much more responsive
than the infrared remote, and it does work in the Manual mode
(unlike the infrared). The two drawbacks are (1) you are tethered
to the camera, and (2) the plug is VERY fragile.

And I thought the Jessops on-line price of 54.90 was bad. Just for a flippin' cable release!Hi Michael
You should think yourself lucky at $50 in Uk they are £62 inc
postage ie $87.
