Dragonfly birth

Saw a dragonfly being emerging from its pupae today. Here are a few pics to show how it happened. Was awesome to see it happen.

Ya, was great to witness although it took the whole morning, took about 2-3 hrs till it was ready to fly

Stunning...though I don't believe it's a birth, but rather a moulting. I don't think insects give live birth. It doesn't matter, it's an awesome photo! Thank you for sharing!

You are right it is a moulting process-just chose to call it that coz now the dragonfly has really come to life.

Oh fantastic ! I saw an empty casing yesterday, and was disappointed to see I had discovered it too late. I agree with Morris, you've captured a special moment there, well done !

Hi

I used a Nikon D50 with the Nikkor 55-200mm kit lens and a kenko 25mm extension tube to take the pics.
Was difficult o get the whole dragonfly in focus, but happy with the results.
