Have you considered some Pano stitching software? PTGUI is fairly inexpensive and is better than Photoshop. here's an example of what can be done:

Note that it does a great job of blending different exposures.

Also try Autostitch, its free and it produced as good a pano (although larger) than PTGUI!

I am sure PTGUI is more powerful, but AS works for both horiz and vert panos, try it!! You will have to manually crop whereas some apps will do it for you or at least take you to a screen to do that, but its FREE!!

that looks very much like Hamilton Pool in Texas,

I use photoshop for stitching panoramas, this one is done with CS2 but CS3 is MUCH improved in that area.

I am curious to hear in what state the pictures are taken? Looks like a much more humid climate than Texas..

Dedicated amateur photographer - what about that?

Silver Falls State Park is in Oregon near Silverton. Hamilton pool looks very cool. Where in Texas is it located?

I saw these when you posted... sorry for the late response. This are really great! I particularly like #2 since it gives you the perspective of the falls in comparison with the people.

The only nit pick here would be that the falls are blown out... but I'm sure you can recover some of the detail there.
