The most depressing photo...

To my dear friends...

There are times when we all wish we could do some
good for our fellow human beings. As for me, I am
getting older and more aware of the virtues associated
with lending a helping hand. When I do, I feel better
about myself, my family situation, and the world
around me.

I am asking for your support in my latest endeavor.
Last night I watched a documentary that brought me
to tears. I decided that there is no better time to make
a difference than right now. Therefore, I have applied
to adopt a set of twins that have been orphaned by
the conflict in Afghanistan.

I need your financial support to get these twins to my
home. I know it is in poor taste to ask for money
from friends and family, but I feel this is one of those
special occasions that make it OK to reach out for help.

Just take a look at them, and you'll see why I am so
touched. Thanks for whatever help you can give.

Sincerely,

DomDP

Boy that was mean ... and now you are famous! Howdy ... KK! You
need to have that small mole looked at. Perhaps you are getting too
much of that california sun.
Ergo, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits...

Kim, thanks for sending ergo those decoy calf pictures of your old
6th grade teacher Mrs. wagglewort...ergo likes those california
raisins...

Also thanks for sending me the "real" pictures...I feel so much
better now...but I think I'm gonna be depressed tomorrow
again...maybe I could have the whole collection...kinda like a
photo a day to keep the blues away? Whadda ya say? Pleeze?

Oh, by the way Kim, that picture of ergo dressed up the other day
was when was going to court for...well...I won't say...I never
heard of anyone having a restraining order from a sheep
though...here's his real picture...at least I have shoes...
Bob,

Congratulations once again. I have harked whiskey and ice through my nose onto my monitor. What part of your brain did the phrase " restraining order from a sheep" come from? I may never stop laughing ... plus it is a good cover up. Who told? Those court records were supposed to be sealed. Thanks for making me laugh. I hope that you also made you laugh.--Ergo ... Pure genius. LOL.
Ode To Bob

It breaks my heart that you're depressed
It only helps me in my quest
Perhaps I seem a wee bit crass
But now you're down I'll kick your ass
I love to see you shoot your shoes
And even think of drinking booze
I'm smiling since your UZI broke
I'll bet you've even lost your stroke
And on those shoes I see loose strings
A lot of people tie those things
And gray sweat pants ... you fashion plate
You make me want to ...................

end this poem and say that I love and respect and admire you Bob
... as everyone on the forum does ... and wish you God's blessings
in your quest for work and the safe and swift return of your
camera. In fact, I'll drink to that. I hope that you have a Hoover
kind of weekend.

And Your Shoes On . . .

Ya know, maybe someone should start a support group of us uzi-less forumites. Mine has been gone since Feb 25th and think I am going thru the severe withdrawal stage ;-0 Plus it was 30 below this morning along with 6 inches of new snow so spring doesn't seem to be in too much of a hurry here in MT even tho I DID see a gopher (alive) 2x (kind of the western version of the groundhog theory) on the road the other day. (oh oh better call the wambulance!).

Seriously, tho, I liked that shoe photo and think your photos are awesome - I never fail to become inspired and want to keep trying to become a better photographer when I see yours. These times will pass - can identify with a lot of your current troubles - and know it isn't easy and sometimes things don't seem to be happening quickly enough. But Chin Up! Shoes On! and fear not.

I don't believe this is a an actual degree - think it is more of a title, as I was previously known as the "Appliance Queen". I could be wrong . . .

Wambulance...too funny! I saw my first robin today but didn't have enough zoom to have him show as more than a speck on the frame...

Hi Vicky, I feel your pain...What's yours in for? (like a

Well, it was a pixel problem (so they were considering it as a first-time minor offense lol). Since purchase date, always had 2 pixels that were visible in most photos and just got used to editing them out. One always seemed to land on someone's face in close up portraits, and was pretty visible in any type of shot. Then a couple more started showing up and thought I'd just better take advantage of the warranty and get the whole camera checked out before the warranty expired. Knew I wanted to get the new firmware, too. Think I would've been kicking myself in a few months if I hadn't just done it. In the email I received from Oly, they said turn around was usually about 15 days from receipt of the camera or from approval of the estimate. In my case, the estimate approval applied (Mar 7) because of the $25 fee to upgrade the firmware. Per their online repair status report, work started on March 7.

Think they would've started sooner (they received the camera Mar 1), but I didn't catch on that they were waiting for approval of the repair charges, so I didn't respond right away. So if you see that there is a charge, say for the firmware, you can speed things up by hitting the link box that says something about paying online (or words to that effect). Otherwise they will send you the estimate via snail-mail. If you don't want to set up an online payment method, then I think calling them and arranging something that way would work. Mainly, tho, they won't start any repair until a payment method is set up if the report indicates that a charge is pending. I would think your zoom repair should be under warranty, but the firmware update may have a charge - just keep an eye on your online repair status and then you can get things rolling if need be.
Thanks a lot Vicky...

Hi Bob.

That's too bad to hear! At least you got a second interview which means you were a close runner up. Now follow Tim's advice and round up Egro and Buzzard, sit back and watch them get hammered in Mist and Buzzard Breath Ale. There may even be some good pics in it.

Good hunting, Maxven
