Mini-tutorial...sharpening for the web

In addition, I have found a neat little technique for creating thumbnails for web galleries, too. I don't understand it, so please don't ask me why it works, but I'm sure someone smarter than me can explain it.

Start with the regular sized web image and add Filter> Blur. Resize it to the thumbnail size you need for your thumbnail gallery and add Filter> Sharpen.
Try it and let me know your results.
 
Hi Mahesh....

I found better results following Ken Rockwell's approach of using smart sharpen with lens blur. I put it on 90% with .1 pixel using "lens blur" in the smart sharpen tool. The sharpness is about the same but what I found is your process of sharpening the image twice before resize overbrightens / desaturates colors more than just resizing it to final pixels and using smart sharpen. Simpler too. Try it and see if my results are different :)
