I got these with my new D40 on my walk home Sunday evening... some great colors that don't really look very spring-like but are beautiful nonetheless. Can't wait until my skill catches up so that I can really capture what I see...

Nice! Did you, out of curiosity, enable the "vivid" setting in the camera or not?

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Leung, there is an amazing difference in the light between the two - I love how the shadows in your shot are so subdued. What time of day was it? Or did you do it in pp?

For mine, the colors are on vivid in the camera, and I boosted both the reds and blues after to really make them pop. Natural is good, but sometimes more is just.... more... lol.

And it seems the pictures are gone again. I wonder if this is something related to the hosting at Fotki? Not a great deal since I paid for the professional membership there.

Anyways, here's another for a little while:

Hello delamont... I took the shot around 4pm or so... so the sun was starting to set and that particular street was shaded. However, in the building across the street the sun was being reflected off some windows which caused the lighting you see.

I do like the rich colors you have in the picture! Please continue to show your work! :)

As for your hosting service... I believe Fotki limits your bandwidth. You might want to checkout SmugMug... it's not that expensive and you get decent bandwidth. You can get a discount from my site, if you like.

Happy shooting!!

I like the last 4 pics the best, the magnolia doesn't work for me because too much distraction of the background.....thanks for sharing...
