Anyone know of a good stiching program?

I know there are some good free ones, but haven't been able to locate here. Thanks in advance

Heinrich,
have you got good results from autostitch on any serious (difficult) stitching?

I ran a short test with autopano pro, the 'professional' version of it - that means you pay for it - and frankly...
Autopano Pro:

vs. PTGUI (old version 5.5) + Smartblend (same 9 frames)

You can view 'original' size:

or compare a detail:

Trento populated by ghosts...or maybe it is just me unable to set up it correctly?
Best Regards.

I have four "paid" for pano software programs and none of them are perfect. My favourite is panorama factory V4 which allows me to save layered photoshop images which then allows you to clean up any ghosting. One trick is of course to have good images which to stitch and that usually entail setting up the camera on a proper pano head on a tripod. Have a look at http://www.open2view.com/Property/143847 - the vt images in that were stitched with panorama factory

I also sometimes use photovista and I also have PTGui, although sometimes it will not get the stitch right

Rapick, I have never used it for anything but landscapes and always the free version. I didn't even know that someone had finally developed a comercial version.

I found that with the free version the settings were a lot of hit and miss since some of them had not been activated yet.

I have more or less switched over to the one in photoshop CS2.

Take care,
