You'll have to ignore the gallery's collection of bad compositions, improper exposures, and amateurish post processing. ;)

Hi Greg,

I agree that sparrows don't get enough respect. I just a made a calendar of some of my bird photos for my relatives, but I did not include any sparrow photos because I did not think that my relatives would appreciate them. Thanks for providing a place for me to share my favorite sparrow photos from this past year.

Thanks. I have Shutterfly print the calendars. The quality is very good. The normal price is $20, but they often have 20% off sales, or you can prepurchase 50 for $500. You don't have to order all 50 at once.

I ordered 36 on Monday morning, and 12 of them have already been delivered. It's nice that Shutterfly ships whatever is printed each day instead of waiting for the entire order to be complete. This way, most of them will arrive before Christmas.

Thanks. Yes, you should come to CA. The Golden-crowneds are very common here from October through April.

Very nice series. The Golden-crowned Sparrow is one of the few
North American sparrows that I have never seen before. Hopefully I
can make it out to CA before too long to try to find one.

Greg: Here is a Golden-Crowned from Homer, AK. Shot with the old D60 and 100-400 high on the bluff above the Bay. They mostly summer in the far north and winter in CA.
