I bought the R1 a couple of days ago, and I have no idea how to attach the lens cap to the camera (not to the lens....but with the rope) It came with a rope, but there is absolutely no spot where I can attach the rope to the actual cap??

Same problem with my H5, I had to fix the rope to the strap of the camera.
Greetings.

Its not meant to be there, the R1 cap has no cord fixing, my guess is that the cord has drifted in by accident from an H5 box at the factory or something like that.

That's what I figured. What are you guys doing......Can you buy generic 67mm lens caps with ropes?

i just put the lens cap to my pocket, when i take it off.

I had my H1 lenscap attached with a rope, but after i got used to not having one on R1, the string irritated the bones out of me, and i took it off.

The problem I find with putting the cap in a pocket, especially a shirt or trowser pocket, is that it collects dust in the nooks and crannies on the inside of the cap. Then when you put it on a nice clean lens it deposits that dust. Even more so if it's snapped or tapped in any way.

Not a big deal, just something I noticed. Always good to carry an air bulb blower

My R1 cap was addapted by glueing a plastic gromet on edge and running a strap through the gromet to the camera strap.
This way I won't loose the cap.
